Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
TMC MP Mahua Moitra has accused Union Minister Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti of providing false information regarding the scheduled meeting with the Trinamool delegation. Moitra stated that it was impossible to enter Krishi Bhawan without an appointment, and despite waiting with a group of 40 people, they were denied the meeting.
This accusation comes as the TMC continues its protests against the alleged withholding of WB's MNREGA dues by the Central government. An indefinite strike led by Abhishek Banerjee commenced near Raj Bhawan in Kolkata following protests at Jantar Mantar in Delhi earlier this week.
Previously, a TMC delegation had traveled to Delhi to meet Union Minister of State for Rural and Panchayati Raj Niranjan Jyoti, but the meeting did not take place. The ministry later issued a statement claiming that only appointments for five people were scheduled, while 40 individuals had arrived, and they were not punctual. Moitra refuted these claims, asserting that the minister was providing false information.
